The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and Master of Computer Application (MCA) programmes are offered by Faculty of Computer Applications, Himalayan Garhwal University. The programmes impart comprehensive knowledge with equal emphasis on theory and practice in the field of information technology. The BCA & MCA Graduate/ Post Graduate would be able to demonstrate advanced skills in the effective analysis, design and realization of business systems utilizing contemporary information technology.
The broad objective of the programme is to provide sound academic base from which an advanced career in Computer Applications can be developed. Conceptual grounding in computer usage as well as its practical business application will be provided making candidates suitable for IT sector entry level jobs.
The BCA & MCA programmes curriculum have been designed keeping in view the requirements of the IT industry. The contents of various courses have been evolved with intensive inputs from the experts from academia and industry.
The broad components of the programme such as core computer science courses, programming languages, application oriented courses and soft skills courses make the curriculum complete. Final semester of the programme is devoted to a project which can be carried out in software industry or in University itself.
